D Numbers - New-Age Wondertwinism [Mesa]
Subtle, yet striking piece of brain food. I’m up to three listens so far and each time I’ve noticed a little detail that wasn’t there the first time.
Charlie Parker - Repetition (Mark de Clive-Lowe Remix) *Nu jazz, electronica.
MdCL maintains form. Love the last 90 seconds of this, wonder what Bird would make of it.
Not sure if it’ll get an official release … however, *this* has been out for ages and I still haven’t picked it up. Note to myself: What is your problem?
Benjamin Brunn - The Way She Giggled [Third Ear] *Electronica, Brain food.
A spritely little number, more or less dance floor friendly, too. Me likey.
On A Sun Life LP, which also features U Teach Us. Go. Get. Now.
Jazzy Gentle feat. A.Ventrella - Timeless Sunrise *Lo-fi, nu jazz.
Lovely acoustic guitar, and lovely slicing and dicing to fit it in with the base/drum track. This is theperfect accompaniment for a “why I am still doing this mundane job” daydream on a Wednesday afternoon.
Quite a lot more stuff from Jazzy gentle on soundcloud, musn’t forget to check it out..
Micro Album - Cid Rim [Lucky me] *Electronica, Nu Jazz. From what I’ve heard so far, this is going to be a candidate for album of the year.
Go. Get. Now.
And, whilst you’re at it, get this too (collab between Cid Rim and The Clonius).
Zed Bias pres. Yannah Valdevit - Gotta Keep Me Goin’ [Tru Thoughts] * Electronica, Nu Jazz. No room for doubts: this is the good stuff (and that comes as no surprise if you’re familiar with the respective back catalogues). EP out already, but can’t seem to find it in any of the usual places (?) Album “Equilibrium” on the way…

Notuv - Shower [Bunkai-Kei] *Electronica, lo-fi, brain food. Genre defying piece of “who knows what”. Piano chords, synths, electronic clicks and cuts. Sombre, moody, and yet you can still bob ya head to it.

Part-Time Heroes - Flight [Wah Wah 45s] *Lo-fi, nu jazz, electronica.
Begins life as a dream sequence like arrangement of clicks, cuts, bass and edgy vocals (Fatimah?), and then suddenly explodes into a triumphant, “20,000 volts straight to your dome” orchestral finale.
I challenge anyone to listen to this and not be moved by it.
Winner of today’s: “THIS IS FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!” award.
Sonarpilot Vs. Jonny Miller - Freefall (Aybee Remix) [Sonarpilot Audio] *Deep house, electronica, brain food.
First two minutes really demand your attention, then it kind of fades away into a mid tempo drum loop and keyboard solo on a sparse-ish backdrop. Worth buying just for those first few minutes, though… “Freefall” single available here.
