Ashamed to say that I own very few swell session releases. Note to myself: sort it out. Now.

Relax unwind (feat. Abdul Shyllon) - Mark de Clive Low *Broken beat. One of the all time greats, can’t remember if it’s a velvet rooms tune or not. Had been thinking about it for years, but didn’t know what it was called, or who recorded it. Until, that is, a friend shared a link to this Eavesdrop podcast. All Hail MdCL, he da man. Note to myself: Buy all his stuff on junodownload. Now.

First search for a copy of this tune has returned fruitless. Found this youtube vid, a remix on “hecho en casa”, and the rumour of a compilation named: “Melodious beats vol 1”.
This one appears to be destined for the “can’t find a copy of this release anywhere” list… but for now at least I’ve got this podcast & video to enjoy.

Under Orders - Mark De Clive-Lowe feat. Tawiah  [Tru Thoughts] *broken beat, yes, that’s right: it’s another NEW broken tune! Unheard of in this day and age. All the elements of a classic: “get-up-and-boogie-down-NOW” drum pattern, ridden to perfection by sassy, energised vocals (with a UK accent) from the ever impressive Tawiah. Yeah, broken sound’s better when the vocalist is from Blighty! Album on jundodownload.
